The face and neck are important for all ballroom dancers as we shine on the dance floor. Our spring box included a couple of great tools to keep the muscles and skin of the face and neck in prime condition. Here are a few tips to using these tools. Be sure to check our private FB group for subscribers for tutorial videos.

The Gua Sha is used for lifting and shaping your facial muscles with its angles perfect for relieving tension in the neck, shoulders, and jawline.

The Face Roller is used for lymphatic drainage, decreasing puffiness, and sinus relief.

Facial Roller Guide

Directions: The roller or gua sha is moved with just the weight pressing the skin. No additional pressure is needed. Use the roller then follow with the gua sha. Can be used before the application of makeup or while applying creams to encourage deeper penetration of skincare products.

Gently glide your set over clean skin 2-3times daily for 5-10minutes. Use together or separately morning or night, anytime you have a few minutes for essential self-care and loving time for yourself!

Jawline and neck

Starting on the chin, work from the center outward and upward on the cheeks. Then at the center, make sweeping rolls under the chin towards the collar bone, working up and outwards to the sides of the neck.

Eyes

Using the small roller or gua sha, work the lids and under-eye area. Continue moving in strips from the corner of the eye to ear with the small roller.

Nose, lips, and chin

Using the large roller, work from the nose out to the ear. Continue with upper lip, lower lip, and chin. At the chin follow along the lower jawline to under the ear lobe. Then repeat on the other side.

Forehead

From the center of the forehead, moving up and either left or right, begin at the eyebrows, rolling slowly up and towards the hairline and out. Repeat 3 to 6 times over the same area.

For sinus pain and pressure

Dampen a washcloth and microwave about 10 seconds. Place over your forehead, eyes, cheekbones, neck and chest. Then, using the gua sha or smaller roller, start with the neck and chest. Roll from the center out and move down the neck instead of up. Continue with the chin and below eyes continuing to move away from the center of your face.

Cleaning and Caring for Your Set

Your set can be wiped gently with a soft damp cloth and then dried with an absorbent soft cloth. It is good to leave it on a cloth or towel for a little while after cleaning to make sure it is completely dry before putting it away. Never wipe the set with very hot water or soak it in water. Also, do not expose your set to harsh chemicals or cleaning agents as it would erode the finish and polish.
